Description

Carbatec's Ultra-Fine Finishing system pack s a long-lasting cloth-backed sanding product that is applied to a foam cushion layer.

The paper itself is much like wet and dry paper but the addition of the cushion layer allows more control of the cutting action.

While all sandpaper creates a scratch pattern; the ultra-fine sanding/polishing pattern promotes consistent sanding and extraordinary levels of gloss in acrylics and wood
alike.

Used primarily for finishing pen kits in acrylic, this phenomenal sandpaper is useful in other turning projects too.

Sold as a complete set of nine colour coded, double sided sanding pads for putting a polished sheen on wood.

Includes the following 9 grits:
1,500
1,800
2,400
3,200
3,600
4,000
6,000
8,000
12,000

Pads are 105mm x 80mm x 5mm and can be cut with a sharp knife if required.

For wood - before using these sanding pads you should complete coarse sanding using up to 320 grit sandpaper.

You then commence with the 1,500 pad (similar to conventional 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper) and continue until you have achieved the finish you desire before finishing.

Once you have added a wood finish and this has cured then it is recommended to sand between coats with pads from 1,500 to 3,600 to remove any blemishes or dirt.

After the final coat has cured polish with 2,400 and up through the series until you reach the final polish appearance you want. 12,000 allows you to polish to a highly reflective finish.

Note: Best used wet on acrylics.
