Description

For larger jobs you will want to use a random orbital sander and MICRO-MESH® discs.

Micro Mesh discs offer numerous benefits over traditional abrasives due to their unique cushioned, flexible design and uniform crystal structure.

Ultra-Flex® cushioned abrasive on cloth backing, logo and grit printed on cloth side.

Loop material is made to be applied to hook faced back-up pads for an easy hook ‘n loop closure.

Discs are made using the same cloth backed, cushioned, ultra-flexible MICRO-MESH®.

Complete part geometry and coarse sanding to 120 wet/dry sandpaper prior to beginning the Micro-Mesh series.

This is a 6" disc with no vacuum holes.

1500 Grit, Regular with loop backing sheet.

Primary Use: Softer wood, plastics, acrylics.

Note: Micro-Mesh Regular abrasives are recommended for softer woods such as pine, cedar, spruce & larch. They will work on hard woods but require more effort.

Key benefits include:
* Superior, Consistent Finish: The cushioned abrasive system allows the grit crystals to recede and rotate, creating a smooth, gentle, shaving-like cut rather than a harsh scrape. This results in a highly uniform scratch pattern and can produce ultra-fine, mirror-like finishes, especially on plastics, acrylics, and polished surfaces.
* Reduced Heat Buildup: The flexible backing and cushioned layer prevent the crystals from fracturing and generating excessive heat during use. This is crucial for working on delicate materials that might otherwise warp, melt, or burn.
* Extended Lifespan: Micro Mesh resists loading (clogging with debris) and heat buildup, extending its life significantly, often lasting 7 to 15 times longer than conventional abrasives. This makes them a cost-effective choice over time despite a potentially higher initial cost.
* Versatility: Micro Mesh can be used on a wide range of materials, including wood, metal, paint, acrylic, fiberglass, ceramics, and more. It can be used effectively for both wet and dry applications, with wet use further prolonging the disc's life.
* Conforms to Contours: The highly flexible cloth backing allows the discs to conform to irregular surfaces, curves, and edges, providing a consistent finish in areas traditional, rigid sandpaper struggles with.
* Reusable and Washable: The discs can be rinsed in water to remove accumulated debris and reused multiple times, making them ideal for both hobbyists and professionals.
