The Veritas Medium Router Plane fits in size between the small and large router planes, they use the blades from the large router planes, so has the complete range of blades available to it. Being mid-sized at 85mm wide and 76mm high, it is small enough to work well in narrow timbers and tight spaces.
It is made of ductile cast iron, making it more impact resistant than typical cast iron that can be brittle. It has precision ground flat sole, and boasts wave washer that holds the blade while it is loosened, this allows controlled depth adjustment.
The blade can be set externally, so it faces backwards so it can get into corners so the blade is not limited by the footprint of the plane. A 25mm depth of cut can be achieved with the stop collar fitted, and 44mm if this is removed.
