Description
There is possibly no better tool for final shaping of round parts such as chair legs than a Veritas® Chair Devil. The uniquely and specially shaped scraper blades rounds the workpiece and is an ideal tool for removing marks left by the spokeshave.
Three different sixes are available, all in equal steps, each with their own ideal applications. The 1/2" diameter for spindles, the 7/8" diameter for rungs, and the 1-1/4" diameter for legs and posts, as well as canoe paddle shafts.
The machined steel bodies are fitted with bubinga handles shaped for comfort and control when either pulling or pushing. The machined toe and the two thumbscrews are solid brass, and feature high carbon steel blades are 0.040" (1.016mm) thick, hardened to Rc48-52, and come with a finely ground 45° cutting edge.
